An Award?
I was blog hopping the other day and I noticed a blogger had awarded herself the worst blogger award for having been 6 months between posts. Well I think I've outdone most with it being a year and a half between posts. I have to admit I just struggle with the whole concept really. Although I love to drop in and catch up with what others are up to. Anyway just thought I say hi !

RIGHT NOW
Just a quickie..here's my latest for the BOL- Book of Life competition we started at Shop and Crop. Funny how you don't notice freckles on your nose till you see a close up. LOL.
Did anyone notice I missed the "s" out in worlds, in the journaling.
Hmmm! Geesh I often do that... think I'm finished and find I've forgotten something!
I'm so enjoying this comp, so many positive resposes from so many scrappers.
I really think there's a HUGE shift in the scrapping world.
Give me some real scrapping any day! LOL

PS. We finally booked our tickets today. We're off to Canada in June!

Growing Old
Ekkk!! I had Al take some pics of me the other for a lo for the new BOL (Book of life) reality challenge we have started at Shop and Crop and oh did I get a fright when I saw them.... I looked so old. For most of my adult life I always had to prove my age. It took till I was in my 30's to look like I was out of my teen but now the tell tale signs are well and truly there.
Here's the journaling for the lo I created for the challenge:
It was just yesterday we shared
Ideals of a future tomorrow.
In wanton chatter, we laughted,
Into the late night hours.
We played, we travelled, we dreamed.
We revelled in our ignorance
With unihibited abandon.
We believed we were invincible.
It was just yesterday, or so I thought
Now the lines are etched in crevices,
So perniciously they encircle tired eyes.
The strands of grey scatter implusively
Telling tales of reckoning age.
And the words, without assistance,
Blur upon the page.
I thought I was invincible.
It was just yesterday, I remember.
I looked into the mirror
And a stranger did I see staring,
Ever so curiously, right back at me.
Age like a thief came in
And stole away my youth.
Now I contemplate the dusk and I know
I AM not invincible.
Dedicated to all those of us who get a little frightened by the image in the mirror. LOL,
TFL,
Jeni

OK So I Know...
I'm not a good blogger. When life gets busy it's just hard to blog.
The last few weeks have been challenging. Three weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with breast cancer. Yep men get breast cancer too. He has struggled with what he sees as a woman's disease. It's now two weeks since he had a mastectomy and he is still in hospital as his wound is infected. It's times like this when living so far away from family is wrenching. I flew to Melbourne for a few days.
Geesh did I miss my kidos. I've spent the odd night away but it really tugged at my heart to be away from them this time. I just can't imagine all those who share custody and don't see their kids for a week at a time. I admire their strength.
Oh a lighter note when I got home we took the kids down to MovieWorld as a treat. Stayed in a way too expensive, 18th floor, GC highrise. I think I'II have do some extra work to pay for that little venture. Will post a few pics.
Here's my latest lo for http://www.shopandcrop.com.au/OnlineCommunity/?CurrentType=1 Topic was my home. Well from someone who has lived in many houses I have yet to feel, "This is Home!" I came to the realisation that my home is where my heart is... and my heart is with my family.
Thanks to those of you who drop by.
I really appreciate hearing from you.

What to do with those old crayons lying around?

Love making a mess? I'm so good at it. Just hate the clean up afterwards. Even broke a plate with this one. Tip don't put your heat gun too close to the crockery.
Here's what I've been playing with lately - beeswax, crayons and pastels. Love the effect. I did this as a two for one.
The latest dare is, "What will your legacy be," set by the gorgeous Al. I just love a challenge with meaning. LOL.

Reality Bites
Yay finally!!! This would have to be the feature I am most proud of. Reality Scrapping is something that is very dear to my heart. I want to scrap the good and the difficult times. Afterall that's what our lives are all about. I found it really challenged me to go back and write about my feelings during this time in my life. I wrote this poem for all my little angels who stayed ever so briefly. And dedicate it to all those women who are sadly touched by the pain and heartache of infertility and miscarriage. As I said in the article, "Never give up hope".
I am so proud too of the four other women Sue, Deb, Elizabeth and Marieke for their wonderful los and for sharing their real life experiences. Thanks so much ladies. Muuuwah!!
I really truly hope seeing features like this helps other scrappers to see that scrapping can also be so cathartic.

PS This is not actually the final copy of the lo that's in the mag. Does anyone finish a lo, photograph it and then decide to change it. The angel near the title was changed when I found a beautiful rub-on.

Just wanted to say thanks
to those of you who pop by and have left comments on my blog. It means so much to me. I haven't blogged very much of late but I am attempting to catch up. If you stop by please leave a message.
Upcoming Workshop
I'm very excited to be asked by http://www.shopandcrop.com.au to do an on-line workshop on Friday Feb 9th.
We're using the new and wonderfully colourful, Rouge de Garance range of pp with lots of cutting, some 3d and some paint, it's going to be so much fun.
Would love to see you there. Here's a sneak peek.
